Page of a 1980s Angang safety-work photo album, each photograph mounted with a typed caption strip; from a private family collection. This page, two photographs: a home-built orange scissor-lift maintenance vehicle raising workers to a forging press, and a vertical spiral staircase winding up between the great riveted shells of the hot-blast stoves; the caption reads 为防止高处坠落事故,革新制做的升降式检修车和施工立式旋梯 ('to prevent falls from height: an innovated lifting maintenance vehicle and a vertical construction spiral stair').
