1980年代安全影集页:管线下的「事故为零」标牌(1983年底提出的奋斗目标)
1983

Description

Page of a 1980s Angang safety-work photo album, each photograph mounted with a typed caption strip; from a private family collection. This page: an oval green sign reading 事故为零 ('Zero Accidents') mounted below massive gas pipelines at a plant road, potted flowers at its base, a truck passing under the bridge beyond. The caption records that at the end of 1983 Angang, breaking with the assumption that deaths and major equipment accidents were inevitable in a giant metallurgical enterprise, set 'zero accidents' as its fighting goal.

Significance to the comparison

A date-stamped turn in industrial culture: the 1983 'zero accidents' goal, photographed as street furniture. The safety world of the 1990 'Safety Weekly' photos begins here.
